cameraleather.com "Griptac" High Performance covering  Black and Medium Grey
Back to color chart

Griptac is a specialized material offering the strongest possible grip for any camera.  Available in black and medium grey, Griptac is unlike any other material offered by cameraleather.

With a very bold, gravel-textured surface, Griptac gives the impression of "Vulcanite-on-steroids". Despite the dramatic texture, this material is engineered to be thin enough for use on any camera. But it's most impressive in its dramatic transformation of camera handling. It's the first and only choice for those photographers who demand the highest performance, and who shoot heavily and quickly.

Griptac's sole intended use is as a body covering for hand held photographic equipment and small hand held electronic devices. It should never be used for any other purpose. Those who wish to apply a "non-slip" covering, or address a safety or functionality issue with any other type of equipment or device, should do so only with another product made and rated for such a purpose. We do not sell Griptac in 9X12 inch sheets.

When the camera is first held, you'll know instantly it's unlike any other surface treatment, factory or aftermarket. Those photographers who have been trying Griptac describe it as "invisible glue" or a "third force" that keeps the camera attached to the hands.

Griptac is also recommended for all cameras that reside in those parts of Asia where there is high humidity, heat and elevated levels of ozone.

Griptac looks as great as it feels, and can be used on any camera.  It's  especially well suited to cameras that are used heavily, and under extreme conditions. It has a strong acrylic adhesive on the back, which will not soften even under high heat.  In the cold, gloves may be worn with more confidence, and for any kind of field work the photographer can concentrate more on the subject because much less finger pressure is needed to hold the equipment securely.  In conditions where hands may be sweaty, wet, or greasy, Griptac offers many times the "grab" of a smooth covering.

For best results, apply Griptac in temperatures of at least 60
° F.
