MINOLTA XD11 Variants

Minolta XD-11 in "Minolta Black" covering

On the left you'll see the most common XD11. ("Type 1").  The black ring around the lens mount has an area scalloped out to allow the leatherette to go under.  On the right is the second variety ("Type 2").  Notice how there is no accommodation for the leatherette to slip under. The difference is most apparent just under the lens release button. The problem area was below the flash socket and DOF preview button.  The old kit was designed to go under it, an impossible task with a type 2 body. Our new die will cut a piece suitable for both cameras . . . but if you have the "type 1" you should place the leather until it comes up to the edge, not under it.

We are offering the type 2 kit as the default kit, and the only kit, since it can be confusing for some to figure out which type they have . . . especially if the old leatherette is still on the body.  The kit will fit correctly on any XD series body.
