Our die-cut baseplate "Scratch-Pads"  will protect your Olympus OM, Leica M or LTM from the most common type of cosmetic wear. It's very accurate, and has all the correct holes needed for each supported camera. The OM pad allows full function with all OM accessories.  For OM, there are 3 styles: The OM 1 and 2, the OM-2S, and all OM-3 and 4 cameras. The Leica M pad fits all M's except the M5 and M8. The LTM pads fit the Leica IIIC, IIIF and IIIG. Pads are not available for the IIIA, IIIB or early Leicas. The only color offered is black.

The pads are made from a matte finish, pliable 4 mil thick vinyl sheet, with a special low-tack adhesive that allows for easy, clean removal. When using a black body, it doesn't take much at all to scratch the baseplate.  Chrome bodies are tougher, but the scratch-pads will do a great job of preventing "bright-line" marks. Consider this a medium-duty pad; it will be unharmed by quick-release tripod mounts, but an old head that puts a lot of hard, rotary force on the baseplate may pinch it.

Do you really need this thing? . . . Of course you do! On black M4, M6, MP and M7 bodies, the "scratch pad" is nearly invisible.


You can just peel and stick them on the baseplate . . . but the most accurate placement is by the wet method which will allow you to adjust the pad in place before it's fully adhered. The pads are $3.80 each and you can purchase the pads in Section 8, near the bottom of the online order page.
